A New Nature Reserve and More Hotel News From Aruba
Aruba’s hotel and resort scene is more alluring than ever. The Dutch island in the south Caribbean is known for its desert environment, perpetual tradewinds that shape its iconic divi divi trees, colorful, colonial town, and a famous beach that’s been named best in the world, where most resorts are found.

News from three resorts highlights new experiences to give travellers reasons to return to Aruba or visit for the first time.

Aruba’s premiere adults-only boutique hotel on the shores of Eagle beach isn’t just celebrated for being one of the most romantic hotels in the world.

Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort is headed by a celebrated environmentalist, who ensures the resort walks the walk of best sustainability practices. It’s LEED Gold certified and the first and only Carbon Neutral resort in the Caribbean that enforces sustainable best practices and also engages in community environmental and socially conscious initiatives, including protecting sea turtle nests on the beach, animal rights on the island, spaying and neutering stray dogs and cats, and supports a local donkey sanctuary and a move to eliminate plastics from Aruba.

Its owner’s latest initiative, in celebration of the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort’s 35th anniversary, creates a legacy for visitors and residents of Aruba, in the form of the partnering with other locals to donate 30 acres of the last remaining, undeveloped green space of private land in one of the busiest parts of the island as a nature preserve for permanent public enjoyment.

In addition to “preserving Aruba for Aruba,” the Bucuti & Tara Nature Preservation Foundation is undertaking a reforestation initiative with indigenous trees at The Bucuti Tara - GMC Park.

The preserve is a typical Aruban ecosystem with any number of the 280 bird species and other local flora and fauna. This gifted land will offer residents and visitors a quiet, natural place to walk, jog or sit amongst Aruba’s indigenous trees, plant life, and wildlife.
